Trade & Development
From the 1990s until 2008 QUNO worked on trade and development issues, with the primary goal of promoting a fair and equitable trade negotiating process, focusing in particular on Intellectual Property and Movement of Labour Providers. QUNO contributed to debates and negotiations taking place in various institutions including the International Labour Organisation (ILO), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Our Sustainable & Just Economic Systems programme continues work on trade issues, and past work in this area was also undertaken by our Food & Sustainability programme.
