New York Governance

As stewards of Friends’ testimonies at the United Nations in New York, Friends World Committee for Consultation and the American Friends Service Committee agree to work together to witness to the testimonies of truth, peace, and social and economic justice at the United Nations and its various organizations based in New York.

QUNO programs, laid forth in its 3-year strategic plan, are shaped by the following:

• the UN agenda
• staff expertise
• concerns of Friends worldwide, sent through Quaker channels.

AFSC has an ongoing personnel and supervisory responsibility for QUNO New York. Locally employed staff are managed by the representatives in New York.
